2020 Grammy's Recap

Sunday night was a historical night for many reasons. One of these was the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards.

Unfortuanely, music's biggest and most exciting night quickly turned somber when news broke about the passing of basketball legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna, after they were both killed in a helicopter crash.

The Los Angeles Staples Center filled with celebrities and musicians wearing extraodinary designers, trying to focus on the positivity of the night.

Alicia Keys hosted the show and started with a tribute to Kobe along with Boyz 2 Men where his jersey was then illuminated in the stadium. Keys made sure to emphasize that the night was a celebration of life and music.

On the bright side, many artists made history and took home big victories. Billie Eilish was the top winner of the night, taking home five awards.

The 18-year-old was the first to take home the top awards since Christopher Cross in 1981, according to Time. Eilish is the youngest artist to win Album of the Year.

Lizzo put on an explosive performance announcing, "Tonight is for Kobe." She performed a medley of her songs "Cuz I Love You," and "Truth Hurts." The stage was filled with a live orchestra and dancers. Lizzo even performed a flute solo.

A dark day was able to turn around thanks to the Grammy's and the stars who did a great job at respectfully paying tributes to Kobe Bryant and his family, while also celebrating the industry's best music and talent.
